The Floch

It's great being in the Coronets. On the 23 September 2000, the Coronets got an email from someone as follows:

Hello -- We enjoyed listening to your fine music.

We hope that you would add one of our songs to one of your stations. Please listen at:
http://www.mp3.com/lochreid

Please try "Transcendental Meditation in Eb" and/or "Transcendental Meditation in A". We also would hope that you might add one of these to your "My.Mp3.com" and play it daily.

In return, we will add one of yours to our radio station "A Romance With The Classics" and add yours also to our "My.Mp3.com" and play it daily for you.

Please suggest one or more of your songs to us.

My friends, such offers are hard to resist. I checked out the loch website - he's about 50, full of attichude, yelling "Wagner etc, move over", and his credentials mean that I had to take him seriously - he has just been "inside the Famous Abby Road Studios in London".

This man could truly be a mate of the coronets.

Hello Mr Floch

I am so pleased to hear that you liked the music of the Coronets - it really sounds as though you gave it a great listen and I would love to hear your detailed analysis of it.

I have since listened to the incomparable "Transcendental Meditation in A" - as you so rightly say, Wagner Etc, move over! I particularly liked the bit where you appear to caress and coax your keyboard into the final chords, willing it in as you might do a DOG IN A BATH.

As such I have since added it to the station THE CORONETS and will do my best to listen to it every day. I would be literally eternally grateful if you would return the favour and stick the sounds of the corras on your station. The song I recommend in particular is called "better english". However, "cumpleanos" is also a favourite of the cogneskenti.

Thanks again for writing and PLEASE don't forget to KEEP IT REAL.

That's fascenating

Soon we received a typically charming response, Frank treating conventional rules of grammer and spelling with the same towering superiority he displays towards so-called "classical" composers:

Good Morning Phil -- Thank you for listening, for your reply, and for your very nice compliments. I have added "Better English" to our "A Romance with the Classics" station, and also to our "My.mp3.com" section for daily play.At the end of each day, I start "My.mp3.com" playing, turn off the monitor, and retire for the night. That way, everyone on it gets a play each day. Your melodies are facenating, but your vocals are so "smooth" that it's hard to stop listening!!

Since you enjoyed Trancendental Meditation in A , I wonder you you could listen to our new sonic spectacular "Remembrance --Orchestral Version" and perhaps list it on your "My.Mp3.com" also. It's best to have it in a "My.mp3.com" section as those plays count much more than station plays for your genre ranking and for PFP.

Best regards

I haven't added it to mymp3.com AS YET.

You can visit his site if you really want.

The Coronets are not responsible for external sites and make no guarantees as to their quality.

When not making transcendental music, Frank is an amateur astonomer. Really. I found this out while researching the next line. Frank - real name Frank Moscawitz - gets his stage name from his local jewellers.

WHOOO! WHOOOO! yeah.
